Merry Christmas

I enjoy getting out and about this time of year with my camera. For many years I thought it was a bad idea but I feel inspired by the different compositions offered by changes in weather and lively street scenes.

Street photography is great right now, with small town Christmas markets offering cheery subjects. Shop displays are beautifully decorated and High Streets have festive lights. Shoppers are dressed up in their woolly hats and are merry, browsing the stalls, eating mince pies and sipping mulled wine.

Ilford HP5 is great for nice contrast, grain and atmosphere as well as offering better opportunities for natural light exposures with 400 ASA.

The weather can be so dramatic in winter, with mist, snow and umbrellas making different great subjects.

Pictures of family and friends enjoying themselves are things to cherish for years to come. Flash photography indoors can be fun, e.g. with one of these flash guns.

An Olympus Trip 35 camera makes a nice gift too!

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
