Pale red with light brown grain that can vary from straight to swirly in a single length. Very hard but manageable to work with, looks lovely waxed and is often seen in a veneer.
Grows to 24 meters (80 ft) in Europe, Asia, North Africa, Canada and USA. Ours is American FSC.
The subtle reddish brown appearance of cherry is usually seen on fine furniture and trim. It’s also not uncommon to see cherry used in veneered pieces as well. Along with Black Walnut, it’s one of the premier hardwoods in the United States.
