Trip Man

Olympus 35RC rangefinder camera Exc+

£185

An Olympus 35RC rangefinder 35mm camera in very good condition, newly professionally serviced (by Luton Cameras), working and tested, with original clean black leatherette.

This 35mm camera comes with new light seals fitted and battery modification.

  • S&F Electronic Modification: Professionally upgraded by a specialist technician. The internal circuitry has been permanently converted with a Schottky diode to natively accept modern, widely available batteries.
  • Meter Accuracy: Calibrated perfectly for the included 1.55V Silver-Oxide 303/357 battery. No inaccurate readings, no needle drift, and no need for expensive, short-lived zinc-air cells.
  • Custom Chamber Stabilization: Features a bespoke, built-in rubber chamber surround. This ensures the modern battery sits securely with perfect electrical contact and will never rattle or disconnect during shooting.
  • Ready to Shoot: Fully tested, freshly lubricated, and supplied with a brand-new, top-tier battery installed.

Shutter speeds can be set from 1/15 - 1/500 + B. The ASA ranges from 25-800 with apertures from f2.8. Flash sync is up to speeds of 1/500.

The 35RC is from the same family and era as the Trip 35 and has built-in light metering. It has a working self-timer and takes 43.5mm filters/hood/lens cap etc. Focusing is by way of the rangefinder - just line-up the images in the centre of the viewfinder. This is more sophisticated than the Trip's viewfinder. The selected shutter and aperture can be seen in the viewfinder.

The lens is the wonderful 42mm Zuiko f2.8. The lens focuses smoothly and is free from dust, fungus and scratches. Focus is easy in the nice bright viewfinder.

The serial number of the camera is 595210. Please see photos for condition of the actual camera for sale. The film pressure plate shows H 8 - 4, (April 1978).

We are happy with the function of the camera and as such will provide a 12-month warranty.   A nice period compact rangefinder, ready to use.  It is unusual to find an original example in such fine condition.

There are a number of reviews on-line, such as this one by Matt Osborne aka Mr Leica.
